The BEd(Sec) prepares students for teaching careers in secondary schools in the Pacific region. This course aims to integrate Christian values with sound teaching principles. PAU trained teachers maintain a critical balance between theory and practice in order to acquire an appropriate level of professional confidence and skill necessary to direct their own classrooms effectively. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration as teachers in most Pacific countries and are eagerly sought for their professional competence.

Students must select a content major and a supporting minor, from the following:
- religious studies
In addition to content study areas, and professional studies education subjects, all education students participate in four practicum sessions as scheduled.
Bachelor of Education (Primary)
4 years full time –Fulton Campus, Sonoma Campus
The BEd (Prim) is for both pre-service and in-service students. It is relevant, practical and specific to the educational needs of the Adventist Church in Fiji, Papua New Guinea and in other oceanic countries of the South Pacific. It also accommodates the needs of other students who desire a Christian foundation for their Primary Education program of study. The course develops competent, reflective teachers and graduates are thus recognized by the Teaching Service Commission of Papua New Guinea and by the Ministry of Education of Fiji as eligible to teach across the whole curriculum in national primary schools, grades 3 – 8.
The program is comprised of subjects or units of study in a number of discipline strands including foundation studies in the area of arts, language, mathematics and science, and social studies, core studies in religion and philosophy and specialist professional studies in education and curriculum. Units required by the National PNG Curriculum guidelines for the pre-Service Diploma in Teaching (Primary) are included along with subjects addressing moral values and religion.
Students who complete the Diploma of Education (Primary) or the Diploma of Teaching (Primary), offered at the Fulton and Sonoma campuses respectively, with the required GPA, are granted advanced standing for 50% of the requirements of the (Primary) program and have their academic credit transferred to the B Ed (Prim).
A teaching practicum takes place each year of the course.
