Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physics
The School of Science and Technology has a position available in 2012 for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physics. Physics is taught as a major for the B.Sc. and B.Ed. degree. The successful appointee will be responsible for developing high quality educational material for undergraduate students in adherence with the academic policies of Pacific Adventist University and may be involved in some postgraduate research supervision. In addition to the preparation and delivery of lectures, the Physics Lecturer will also be responsible for assisting in subject revision, assessing students, performing administrative duties and be involved in various aspects of higher education activities associated with the School of Science and Technology as required.
The suitable candidate will possess the following attributes:
- A Master’s or PhD degree in Physicsz
- A Minimum of 5 years tertiary teaching experience
- Ability to teach in a broad area of undergraduate physics
- Ability to supervise graduate students in their area of expertise
- An established record of achievement in Physics research and teaching
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to excellence in teaching
- Commitment to the teachings, values and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
