Pacific Adventist University is inviting applications for the following position:


Director of Student Services

The Role of the Director of Student Services is to:


Effectively lead the Student Services Department in providing for the spiritual, social and physical well- being of students. As part of their duties, the Director of Student Services is responsible for the oversight and management of the Student Services Department which includes the Residence Halls, Food Services Department, Counseling Services, Clinic, Married Student Villages and Student Workline Program. They also work closely with the Spiritual Services Director. In addition the Director of Student Services is a senior leadership role. The Director of Student Services, along with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Bursar and Registrar, are Officers of the university who assist the Vice-Chancellor in providing leadership and direction for the university. For these reasons this role requires a high level of management, leadership and administrative skills and experience.


Qualifications required:


An active relationship with Jesus Christ, characterised by a deep desire for worship and service to God.

Baptised membership in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission.

A degree in education, theology or an appropriate equivalent.

Significant recent experience in working with young people.

Proven leadership and administrative abilities.

A working knowledge of, and proven loyalty to, the church its organisation and policies.

Have an interest in and aptitude for cross-cultural ministry.

A well-developed sensitivity to the wide diversity of situations and needs of students.

The ability to relate well to the different cultural groups within the student body.

A high level of communication skills, particularly listening and speaking.

The ability to deal professionally with the challenges of the position.

The ability to effectively manage and lead a team.

The ability to understand and maintain a clear focus on the mission of the university.
