Governance, Organisation and Administration

PAU is owned and operated by the South Pacific Division (SPD) of the Seventh-day Adventist church with its headquarters in Sydney Australia; it is authorised to operate by the Pacific Adventist University Act 1997, Papua New Guinea. The University Chancellor is Dr Barry Oliver, President of the SPD, who chairs the 20 member Council that meets 2-3 times per annum to govern the University. PAU is managed by an executive team comprising the University officers: Vice-Chancellor (Ben Thomas), Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Assoc Prof Tracie Mafile’o), Registrar (Pele Alu), Bursar (Karo Matainaho) and Dean of Student Services (Pr Thomas Davai).
